On Saturday September 12, 2009 Michael and Seth Fallon of Copake Auction Inc. conducted a catalogued Americana auction featuring 18th and 19th c. furniture, folk art, artwork, period accessories, textiles and a collection of firearms. The 631 lot sale attracted over 200 checked in buyers and 535 absentee and phone bids.
Over 60 firearms from a local estate were sold including Winchesters, Mausers and Japanese, Russian, French, German and Chinese military rifles. One of the top lots was a Model 1895 B Winchester lever action ($621.50).
Several of the various textiles offered exceeded the catalogued high estimate including a Ohio Amish “Ocean Waves” quilt signed and dated “K.S.H. 1936” ($847.50), a circa 1850 floral appliqué ($904) and a signed and dated sampler “Elizabeth Mary Boktero Dunham May 8 1823” ($706.25).
Folk art included a group of weathervanes including a rooster ($2,655), Ethan Allen horse ($2,147), full bodied ram ($9,605) and a schooner ($960.50). Other notable items included a circa 1880-1910 carved wooden lion carousel figure ($1,469) and a selection of decoys with price results ranging from $30 to $600.

Period furniture was offered including a 18th c. Q. A. curly maple Rhode Island highboy circa 1740 ($8,475), an 18th c. Q. A. pine slant lid desk ($565) and an 18th c. American Hudson Valley hearth bench with lift seat ($1,243).
Art work included a pair of early 19th c. portraits attributed to Asahel Powers ($2,938), a portrait of child attributed to William Mathew Prior ($12,712.50) and O/C portraits of the three “Gabor” sisters, Zsa Zsa, Eva and Magda from the family home in Connecticut. ($1,073).
